Mr. Alan WilliamsMost households are connected to the public electricity supply. From sample surveys the Electricity Council estimate that about 80 per cent. of electricity consumers in England and Wales own one or more electric space heating appliances. Corresponding figures for 1949 and 1959 are 60 and 65 per cent. respectively. Precise information about the proportion of households which receive only electricity is not available, but if my hon. Friend has any particular point in mind perhaps he would write to me.
