§ Miss BaconIn January 1969, the last date for which national figures are available, Birmingham had 606, or 19.3 per cent. of its primary classes over 40. This compared with 9.5 per cent. for England and Wales. This term 407 or 12.7 per cent. of primary classes are over 40.
