HC Deb 09 December 1969 vol 793 c114W
Mr. Rees-Davies

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he has taken to ensure that, in assessing the merits of Foulness as a possible site for the third London Airport, full consideration will be given to its potential as a combined airport and deep-sea port.

Mr. Mason

Under the terms of reference announced by my predecessor, the Roskill Commission is at present considering sites for a Third London Airport. The commission has already announced that, in considering the costs of an airport at Foulness, it will take account of the effect upon those costs of any possible port development. I am confident that the commission will do this adequately.
