§ 64. Mr. George Jegerasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the delays and inconvenience to traffic caused by railway level-crossings over trunk roads in towns such as Goole; and whether he will initiate discussions with the Railways Board with a view to their elimination.
§ Mr. MurraySeparation of road and rail traffic in towns is generally desirable, but this is often so expensive that other road improvements would give better value for money in eliminating both delays and danger. The only public road level crossing in Goole is on a principal road. It would be for the local highway authority to negotiate with British Railways for its elimination.
