asked the Minister of Transport what action he proposes to take to reduce the danger to children and elderly people attempting to cross the trunk roads in the built up area of Thirsk.

We share the right hon. Member's concern and my right hon. Friend has written to him about measures which are to be taken. The new bypass is programmed to start next autumn.
