§ Mr. Bryant Godman Irvineasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how much Her Majesty's Government has contributed to date to the Agricultural Training Board.
§ Mr. DellThe total sum received by the board to date from public funds amounts to £680,000 in the form of grants and £610,000 by way of loans. Of the grants £290,000 was for first year costs of administration, which are paid by my Department in respect of all training boards, and £390,000 for special help to the board and the industry at the time of the severe outbreak of foot and mouth disease in 1967–68. Repayment of the loans will be taken into account under the new arrangements for financing the board announced in the Government proposals of 13th August.
