Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity why she will not refer to the National Board for Prices and Incomes the further evidence submitted by the hon. Member for West Ham, North, showing that company directors have had their salaries increased over the past three or four years by amounts ranging from five per cent. to 50 per cent.

It would not be right for the salaries of particular individuals to be the subject of public inquiry and report.
