§ Mr. MurrayThe average cost of installing automatic half-barriers at level crossings before the Hixon accident in January, 1968 was £8,600. The British Railways Board estimates that the minimum cost of new installations embodying the modifications recommended by the Hixon Inquiry will be £13,000.
