asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give further consideration to the position for corporation purposes of an unquoted company with public status with a view to taking steps to bring it into line with that of a quoted company.

It is not entirely clear what the hon. Member has in mind, but I assume that he is referring to the close company legislation. There are good reasons for treating close companies differently from other companies, but the operation of some aspects of the special provisions which apply to them is at present under review.
