HC Deb 25 April 1969 vol 782 c142W
Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made with the proposal and plans to provide a vehicle ferry service between Berneray Island and the Isle of North Uist.

Mr. Ross

I have so far received no detailed proposals for this service, but I understand that a report by marine consultants on the designs of suitable ferries to serve a number of islands including Berneray is being studied by MacBraynes. The County Council have included the construction of landing facilities in their forward programme for piers.
