§ Mr. Whitakerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will extend the opening hours of the Victoria and Albert and other main public galleries and museums.
§ Miss Jennie LeeThe National Gallery already keeps open until 9 p.m. on two weekdays in the summer; and the Imperial War Museum started on 6th April to open on Sunday at 10 a.m. instead of 2 p.m. as an experiment for six months. In general, I should like to see the opening hours extended to suit the needs of the public, both in the evenings and on Sunday mornings, but this depends on the co-operation and availability of staff.
