asked the Minister of Transport if he will give details of the basis on which he determined the support to be provided for the Truro—Falmouth branch railway line.

The grant for the Truro—Falmouth rail passenger service in 1969 was calculated in accordance with the methods recommended by the Joint Steering Group and accepted by the Government in the White Paper on Railway Policy of November, 1967 (Cmnd. 3439). The details are as follows:
