HC Deb 02 April 1969 vol 781 c97W
45. Mr. Gardner

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what further proposals he has for the promotion of co-operative marketing in horticulture; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hoy

None. The promotion of co-operative marketing in horticulture has been vested in the Central Council for Agricultural and Horticultural Co-operation, which the Government set up in 1967 to promote co-operation in agriculture and horticulture and to administer a grant scheme. The response of growers to the scheme has been encouraging. In the 18 months since the scheme began, grants of over £¼ million have been approved for horticultural marketing co-operatives.
