HC Deb 02 April 1969 vol 781 cc107-8W
Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how the additional £133,000 cost incurred by farmers as a result of rating of agricultural buildings was apportioned between different commodities at the 1969 Price Review.

Mr. Ross

The figure of £133,000 represents the estimate of total cost incurred by farmers in Scotland in respect of rating of intensive livestock buildings in 1967–68. The estimated additional cost in Scotland in 1968–69 was £40,000 and this was taken into account at the 1969 Annual Review, but no precise allocation to individual Review products is possible. A substantial proportion of this cost relates to broiler production which is not a review commodity.
