Mr. Moonmanasked the Minister of Technology whether, in establishing an intergovernmental committee to supervise collaboration between Great Britain, the Netherlands and West Germany in producing an advanced gas centrifuge for the enrichment of uranium, he will give an assurance that hon. Members will be kept informed of developments on the safeguards of nuclear material, siting of plants and any extension of the work to include other countries.
§ Mr. BennDiscussions about this project are still in progress and no decisions have yet been taken by the Governments concerned. However, the functions of the proposed joint committee would compriseinter alia the subjects mentioned and would be dealt with in the intergovernmental agreement which we would conclude with our partners. I shall be keeping the House informed in the usual way.
