§ Mr. Alexander W. Lyonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a statement about Great Britain's relations with Tanzania.
§ Mr. WhitlockAs my right hon. Friend told the House on 5th July, diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Britain were resumed on 4th July this year, and Her Majesty's Government warmly welcomed the resumption. The new British High Commissioner to Tanzania, Mr. Horace Phillips, arrived in Dar es Salaam earlier this month and the Tanzanian High Commissioner is expected to take up his appointment in London in November.—[Vol. 767, c.281.]
