§ Dr. BrayWe shall take every opportunity to encourage the development of the radio, electronics and telecommunications industries in Wales and other development areas, bearing in mind the need to foster a strong and internationally competitive electronics industry as a whole. The Department is always ready to examine schemes which will assist this industry. It is, for example, giving financial support to the recently established Industrial Development Unit at the University College of North Wales, which aims, amongst other things, to encourage the use of electronic instrumentation.
