asked the President of the Board of Trade how many Scottish firms have accepted Governmental financial assistance and inducement this year; and what is the total financial sum involved to date.

But the total value of financial assistance in Scotland paid by the Board of Trade in the year ended 31st March, 1968, was £16.2 million under the Local Employment Acts, 1960–66, and £43.8 million in the form of investment grants (excluding investment grants on ships) The corresponding figures for the six months ended 30th September, 1968, were £6.6 million and £25.9 million, respectively.
