HC Deb 04 November 1968 vol 772 c35W
86. Mr. Ridsdale

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate he has made of the cost to the social services, including education, of the dependent immigrants that have entered the United Kingdom in the last five years.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

Such evidence as is available suggests that the average immigrant draws rather less upon social security benefits and services than the average member of the population as a whole.
