§ Mr. Kelleyasked the Minister of Transport why a stretch of the north bound carriageway, 2¼ miles in length, on the recently completed Tuxford by-pass on the A1, has been closed to vehicular traffic for the past two weeks; and when it is likely to be reopened.
Mr. Bob BrownNew construction techniques were employed for the Tuxford By-Pass. Special joints and measuring equipment were also installed in association with the Road Research Laboratory. Some of these joints have proved unsatisfactory and it has been necessary to close a length of one carriageway so that the remedial work can be carried out. The work has been completed and the road should be reopened on Friday, 31st May.
