64. Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department for what purposes Brigadier-General van der Borg, head of the South African police, informed the immigration officers that he was visiting this country when he passed through immigration control.

Mr. Ennals

Lieutenant-General van den Bergh was admitted as a visitor, having indicated that he wished to stay at the South African Embassy for a few days. He arrived on 18th April and left Britain on 22nd April.
