§ Mr. Pounderasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government with regard to Resolution No. 359 on the general policy of the Council of Europe which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 30th January, 1968; and what action the Government have taken or intend to take on it.
§ Mr. Goronwy RobertsResolution 359 does not call for action by Governments, but we welcome it and are in broad agreement with its terms. As regards the points made in paragraph 9(c), Her Majesty's Government support the peace-making efforts of the United Nations Special Representative in the Middle East and consider that while these are in progress, it would not be appropriate to consider specific proposals for the development of the area.
