§ 47. Mr. Bostonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what additional safeguards he proposes to take to prevent illegal entry into Great Britain by such means as were used by the two people who flew from France and landed at Harty Ferry, Kent, on Friday, 16th February, 1968.
§ Mr. CallaghanThe police already notify the appropriate authorities of any irregular arrivals of aircraft from abroad which come to their notice, and there is no reason to believe that any significant number of persons enter clandestinely by air or that the incident referred to by my hon. Friend was more than an isolated one.
Whilst I am anxious to limit the number of reports I call for from chief constables, I have, in view of my hon. Friend's anxieties and the publicity that arose from this incident, asked for an 127W account of what took place and will communicate with my hon. Friend in due course.
