§ Mr. Whitakerasked the Prime Minister whether he will transfer the responsibility for the pensions of former colonial officials, together with grants and loans to former colonies to help them pay these, to the Vote of the Commonwealth Office from the Ministry of Overseas Development, in view of the fact that they are not payments for overseas development.
§ The Prime MinisterNo. The grants and loans made to overseas countries in respect of the pension benefits of their employees who were members of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service are made under the provisions of the Overseas Development and Services Act, 1965, and the Overseas Aid Act, 1966, which are administered by the Ministry of Overseas Development.
