§ Mr. Croninasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what help she proposes to give to the 390 miners at present working in New Lount Colliery to find alternative employment when coal production ceases in this colliery on 27th July, 1968.
§ Mr. FernyhoughI understand that over 200 of these miners have been offered transfers to other work with the National Coal Board, and a further 100 are for the present being retained on salvage work. My officers have already visited the colliery to interview those made redundant and will do all they can to help them find new work.
