HC Deb 28 February 1968 vol 759 cc366-7W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the cost to Scottish local education authorities of educating and training those persons who had to take teaching posts in 1967 outside Scotland.

Mr. Ross:

Scottish trained teachers who in 1967 took teaching posts outside Scotland did so of their own volition, not because of shortage of posts in Scotland.

Teachers who have completed their training started their education at least 15 years ago, and precise estimates of costs are not available over the whole period.
