51. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what pay the Advisory Police Mission in Saigon received in January, 1968; what was the total expenditure incurred; and what was paid to its members by the United States authorities.

Mr. William Rodgers

Just over £4,100 was paid in salaries and allowances out of a total expenditure of £6,900. An additional £900 was paid to the Police Advisers by the United States authorities under an agreement designed to bring their total emoluments into line with others doing comparable work in the civilian aid field.
