§ Mr. Wallasked the Minister of Transport what action she is taking outside the Greater London area to prevent parking outside schools.
§ Mr. CarmichaelThe Traffic Signs Regulations prescribe an advisory road marking to indicate to drivers the part of the carriageway outside schools which should be kept clear of stationary vehicles. Because it has been found that drivers are not observing this marking, an improved form is to be tried out at a number of sites both inside and outside London. If successful, it will be prescribed in Regulations.
In the meantime there is nothing to prevent local authorities from imposing waiting restrictions at any site where there are special difficulties.
