§ Mr. MacCollIt is estimated that the number of dwellings in Great Britain at the end of 1967 was 17,950,000 of which 8,550,000 were owner-occupied, 3,300,000 rented from private owners and 5,250,000 rented from local authorities or new town corporations: and 850,000 dwellings were occupied by virtue of employment.
