HC Deb 10 December 1968 vol 775 cc98-9W
Mr. Swain

asked the Prime Minister (1) if he will appoint a Minister of State in the Ministry of Power, to deal with the added amount of work since the nationalisation of steel;

(2) if he will reduce the number of Ministers in the Department of Economic Affairs, in view of the reduction in work and responsibility since the Department for Employment and Productivity was set up;

(3) what plans he has for a reduction in the number of Ministers in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

I keep these matters under review but have no proposals to make at present.
