HC Deb 09 December 1968 vol 775 c33W
Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what further plans he has for relieving the working conditions of hospital nursing staff.

Mr. Ennals

Steady progress continues to result from the provision of new and upgraded hospitals, and from implementation of the Salmon Committee's recommendations for a better management structure and management training. Further plans to relieve nurses of non-nursing duties and to improve the deployment of nursing staff are being worked out.
