HC Deb 09 December 1968 vol 775 c33W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what number of medical consultant posts there are per head of population in England and Wales, respectively.

Mr. Ennals

The information centrally available relates to the number of staff and not to the number of posts. At 30th September, 1967, there were, in terms of whole-time equivalents, 15.3 medical consultants in England and 14.2 in Wales per 100,000 population.
