HC Deb 09 December 1968 vol 775 c13W
62. Mr. Adam Hunter

asked the Minister of Transport what representations he has received about redundancies arising from the proposed transfer of the administrative offices of British Railways from Edinburgh to Glasgow; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Carmichael

We have heard from the Transport Salaried Staffs Association, from the hon. Member for Worcester (Mr. Peter Walker), and from a number of the Railways Board's Edinburgh employees. I can assure my hon. Friend that we discussed the proposed reorganisation with the Chairman of the Railways Board and saw no cause to disagree with him.
