asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he proposes that the sugar beet acreage in Scotland should be increased, and to what figure.

Mr. Ross

There seems to be a good prospect in 1969 of a further substantial recovery of the acreage but it will probably still fall short of the 15,600 acres allocated to Scottish growers.
