HC Deb 04 December 1968 vol 774 cc478-9W
Mr. Monro

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much more bacon he proposes should be produced in Scotland.

Mr. Ross

Scotland is sharing in the general increased pig production throughout the United Kingdom and this should be reflected in the bacon factory output. As my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food said in the House on 12th November the Government looks to the curing industry to increase its share of the market by improving its productivity and competitiveness.—[Vol. 773, c. 210–19.]
