§ Dr. Ernest A. Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list the value of the capital works programme of school building projects submitted for approval by the Lancashire County Council together with the corresponding amounts of expenditure approved for such projects in each of the years from 1960–61 to 1969–70 inclusive.

Local Education Authorities have discretion to carry out building projects costing £20,000 or less at county and voluntary controlled schools. Project for voluntary aided schools and all other projects costing over £20,000 require my approval for building programme purposes.
