HC Deb 04 December 1968 vol 774 c477W
Mr. Dewar

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many full-time hospital doctors are presently working for the Emergency Treatment Service in Scotland; how many general practitioners are employed by the National Health Service in casualty departments of Scottish hospitals; and at what cost in the last full financial year.

Mr. Ross

The appointment of doctors as deputies in the Emergency Treatment Service is a matter for the organisers of that service, and I have no information about these doctors. At 30th September, 1967, there were 27 general practitioners employed part-time in casualty departments of Scottish hospitals at an annual cost of about £16,000.
