HC Deb 04 December 1968 vol 774 c460W
44. Mr. Doig

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the original estimate and actual cost of the Dundee Dental Hospital.

Mr. Milian

The original estimate (dating from the beginning of 1962), which excluded furniture and equipment, was £498,000; the tender cost (October, 1963), which included changes in the scheme before the contract was let was £640,000. The current comparable estimated cost is £722,000, including £60,000 for increases in the cost of wages and material, £19,000 for post contract variations and contingencies and a consequential increase of £3,000 in fees.
