Mr. Corfieldasked the Minister of Technology what arrangements are being made for the testing of methods of automatic ejection of data recorders from crashed aircraft; and what progress is being made in techniques designed to facilitate the recovery of such recorders in the event of the loss of an aircraft at sea.
§ Mr. J. P. W. MallalieuA number of firms are working on these problems and one ejection device will be given preliminary trials from a helicopter of the Royal Navy later this month. We are ready to consider, with the other Departments concerned, the provision of facilities for trials of other equipment of this kind.
