HC Deb 11 April 1968 vol 762 c294W
31. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how long it took the police on 25th June, 1967, to carry out precautions before the application for a search warrant in the Olujimi case; how long it took to obtain the warrant; and how long it took to prepare the subsequent abortive raid which took place at 7.15 p.m. on the same evening.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

Information suggesting that a drug party was in progress at Mr. Olujimi's house in Crosby Road was received at Forest Gate police station at about 5.30 p.m. The police officer who kept observation on the house left Crosby Road by car at about 6.45 p.m. He drove to the home of a magistrate in Ham Park Road and, on a search warrant being granted, drove to Knox Road where he joined other officers who had meanwhile been instructed to attend in their cars at 7 p.m.
