HC Deb 11 April 1968 vol 762 cc294-5W
33. Mr. Sandys

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether a male Commonwealth citizen resident outside the United Kingdom, who states that he intends to marry a woman in Great Britain whom he may not have met, is accorded uncontrolled entry into this country; and under the authority of which Section of the Commonwealth Immigrants Act this is permitted.

Mr. Ennals

In accordance with paragraph 32 of my Instructions to Immigration Officers (Cmnd. 3064) a male Commonwealth citizen may be admitted for a period of three months to marry a woman in this country, if the immigration officer is reasonably satisfied that the marriage will take place within that period.
