§ 1. Mr. Boyd-Carpenterasked the Minister of Social Security what steps have been taken by her War Pensioners' Welfare Officers to draw the attention of war pensioners overseas to the possibility of help from that source to compensate them for the cut in their pensions resulting from devaluation of the pound; and in how many cases since devaluation has help been given to such war pensioners for the purpose of relieving hardship so caused.
§ Mr. LoughlinThe Ministry's Overseas Agents have been instructed to seek applications whenever serious hardship is encountered. So far approximately 50 allowances have been authorised.
