HC Deb 05 April 1968 vol 762 cc159-60W
Mr. Winnick

asked the President of the Board of Trade what correspondence he has received recently from the council of the London Borough of Croydon suggesting that his Department should have a representative on a joint committee to look into Croydon's industrial problems: what reply has been sent; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody

I do not think that it would be appropriate for the Board of Trade, which has to deal on a confidential basis with applications from individual Croydon firms for industrial development certificates, to be represented on the proposed committee. However the Board of Trade would be ready to discuss the committee's eventual findings and recommendations.
