HC Deb 04 April 1968 vol 762 cc129-30W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department to what extent the special attention given to Chesnut Road, Tottenham, N.17, by the police includes action with regard to offences under the Road Traffic Acts; how many prosecutions have resulted and for what offences; and whether these included action against owners of the 34 vehicles parked in the road on 23rd March, 1968, without the display of a current Road Fund licence.

Mr. Taverne

The police attention given to Chesnut Road involves prosecution for various traffic offences. So far this year proceedings have been started in nine cases. In addition, the licensing authorities have been informed of nine vehicles in Chesnut Road apparently being used or kept unlicensed during the same period, one of them on 23rd March.
