HC Deb 21 November 1967 vol 754 c293W
74. Sir M. Stoddart-Scott

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many staff are employed in the Parliamentary Commissioner's Office; what was the cost in the last year of this office; and if he will consider introducing legislation to extend the powers of the commissioner so that he can consider injustices which are caused by local authorities, nationalised industries and in Her Majesty's services.

Mr. Diamond

The 1967–68 estimates provide £163,000, including allied services, for this office, which now has 60 staff. The matters raised in the last part of the Question were fully discussed in Parliament less than a year ago.
