HC Deb 21 November 1967 vol 754 c305W
Mr. Clegg

asked the Minister of Power what revision he has made of the fuel requirements for the North West, in view of the fact that the industrial growth laid down in the National Plan has not been obtained; if he will specify the targets for coal, electricity, gas and atomic energy; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeson

The Government do not set production targets for individual fuels. Estimates of fuel requirements for particular areas are the responsibility of the fuel industries, which keep in touch with fuel using industries, local authorities and with the Regional Economic Planning Councils.
