HC Deb 21 November 1967 vol 754 cc286-7W
41. Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he will complete his reorganisation of the duties of Customs and Excise officers who are employed in connection with distilling and brewing in Scotland; and how many staff are likely to have to move to new posts outside Scotland.

Mr. Diamond

Probably by the end of January, 1968. About 200 officers are likely to move by then but no officer with a fixed post will be compelled to move out of Scotland for up to 2 years.
