HC Deb 15 November 1967 vol 754 cc140-1W
Mr. Alec Jones

asked the Minister of Social Security how many unemployed persons were on the books of her Department in Rhondda at the most recent date who had exhausted their entitlement to unemployment benefit; and how this figure compares with the corresponding date last year.

Mr. Pentland

The Rhondda is served by the employment exchanges at Tonypandy, Ferndale and Treorchy. On 6th November, 1967 there was a total of 672 people registered at these three exchanges who had exhausted their entitlement to unemployment benefit, 640 of whom were receiving supplementary allowances from my Department. The corresponding figures on 7th November, 1966 were 329 and 314.
