HC Deb 14 November 1967 vol 754 cc99-100W
Mr. Anderson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many joint meetings of the Welsh Economic Council and the South-West Economic Council have been held to date; and if, at a future joint meeting, he will propose that the implications of the proposed barrage across the Severn be examined.

Mrs. White

As Chairman of the Welsh Economic Council, I am in touch with the Chairman of the South Western Economic Planning Council on this and other matters of mutual interest: so are the officials who are the Chairmen of our two Planning Boards. I have no doubt that both Councils would take a keen interest in any Severn Barrage proposals which had good prospects of being practicable and economically viable.
