HC Deb 09 November 1967 vol 753 cc144-5W
33. Mr. G. Campbell

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is satisfied with the reception of British Broadcasting Corporation radio programmes in the Moray Firth area, following the recent changes.

Mr. Joseph Slater

The B.B.C. tell me that in the Moray Firth area reception of Radio 2, Radio 3 and Radio 4 is satisfactory on the VHF waveband, reception of Radio 1 and Radio 4 is satisfactory on the medium waveband, and reception of Radio 2 is generally satisfactory on 1500 meters provided a good outdoor aerial is used. Listeners requiring advice should contact the Post Office or the B.B.C.

I greatly regret that some people are having special difficulty in receiving Radio 2 on 1500 metres. The B.B.C. are well aware that there are pockets of poor reception and they are carrying out tests to ascertain just what is their extent and whether more might be done to help the people affected.
